- ಇದರ ಬೇರನ್ನು ಹುಡಿಮಾಡಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆರಸಿ, ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ, ಎಲೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆಣಸಿನ ಜೊತೆ ಅರೆದು ಸರ್ಪ ಕಚ್ಚಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಲೇಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಲೆಯನ್ನು ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಸಿ ದದ್ದಿಗೆ ಹಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾರೆ ಚಿಗುರುಗಳ ಹಾಲು ಕಾಲುನೋವಿಗೆ ಗುಣಕಾರಿ ಗಿಡದ ಹಾಲು ಪಕ್ಷವಾತ, ಅಪಸ್ಮಾರ, ಕ್ರಿಮಿರೋಗ, ಕುಷ್ಠ, ಬೀಗು, ವಿಷಮಜ್ವರ ಮೊದಲಾದುವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಎಕ್ಕೆದಾರ್ ಎಂಬ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಕ್ಕೆಗಿಡಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾರೆಯೆರೆದು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಧಾರೆ

- ಮೊಗವೀರರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಗು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಒಂಬತ್ತನೆಯ ದಿನ ಮಡಿವಾಳಗಿತ್ತಿ ಇದರ ನಾರನ್ನು ಮಗುವಿನ ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ
- ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಸ್:
- The root powdered and mixed with oil is used as ointment to cure boils and wounds The leaf ground with pepper is applied on the wounds of serpent bite The leaf heated with oil is applied on swelling The latex of this plant is useful in curing paralysis, epilepsy, worm trouble, leprosy, swelling etc Cultural use ritual of celebrating marriage with this plant (before the actual marriage) to ward off the evil fate of the death of spouse
- Flowers are used in the worship of God shiva
- A tall shrub; Gigantic swallow wort, Calotropis gigantea (Asclepiadaceae)
- On the ninth day (purification day) after child birth in fisherman community the washerwoman ties the fibre of this plant around the waist of the child and ritually hands it over to its mother
